Bulimia can be hidden well because often times its victims are a normal weight
and work carefully to hide their behaviors.  However, there are still some
warning signs that can help diagnose and treat the sufferers of this disorder.
CommonWarning Signs:
  • Anxiety
  • Binging
  • Bloating
  • Change in voice
  • Chronic coughing
  • Chronic sore throat
  • Depression
  • Diuretic abuse
  • Food cravings
  • Food obsessions
  • Frequent long trips to the bathroom during
    and/or after meals
  • Gum redness, inflation, and/or irritation
  • Hidden food
  • Hidden weight loss pills and/or other drugs
  • Hording food
  • Ipecac abuse
  • Laxative abuse
  • Lethargy
  • Mood swings
  • Running water or making other noise when
    using the bathroom
  • Scarred fingers and/or knuckles
  • Sores in and/or around mouth
  • Tooth discoloration
  • Tooth erosion/decay
  • Vomit hidden in jars, bowls, and/or other
    containers
  • Weight fluctuations (frequent)
