Bulimia can be hidden well because often times its victims are a normal weight
and work carefully to hide their behaviors. However, there are still some
warning signs that can help diagnose and treat the sufferers of this disorder.
CommonWarning Signs:
- Anxiety
- Binging
- Bloating
- Change in voice
- Chronic coughing
- Chronic sore throat
- Depression
- Diuretic abuse
- Food cravings
- Food obsessions
- Frequent long trips to the bathroom during
and/or after meals
- Gum redness, inflation, and/or irritation
- Hidden food
- Hidden weight loss pills and/or other drugs
- Hording food
- Ipecac abuse
- Laxative abuse
- Lethargy
- Mood swings
- Running water or making other noise when
using the bathroom
- Scarred fingers and/or knuckles
- Sores in and/or around mouth
- Tooth discoloration
- Tooth erosion/decay
- Vomit hidden in jars, bowls, and/or other
containers
- Weight fluctuations (frequent)
